The heel of Italy is a land as gentle as its people and its climate, that’s Salento! Here the history of the Mocavero’s is rooted in the beginning of XX century. That’s passion inherited from their father Pietro – who took over the winery in 1950 – that leads Francesco and Marco in making wines believing that "only with a good glass of wine you can feel, perceive and taste pleasures of life". Not only passion but also resourcefulness and enthusiasm, as “Mocavero” in ancient Arabic means: “Warriors”. Yes, indeed, Warriors of taste, Artisans of Wine.

Mocavero wines have a story: tradition of ancient tastes, passion and hard work of humble people intertwine with research, innovation, and Francesco and Marco’s dedication. They personally select the best grapes, follow the vinification, refinement and bottling.
That’s how high quality wines are born, the highest expression of this territory - the sunny land of Salento -, and of a family that has always grown among musts and wines.

Our Wines

Eighteen great labels gathered into five lines: nowadays, Mocavero production includes twelve red wines, three white, two rosés and a natural sweet dessert wine.

“CRUS” LINE: our top line, aged in barriques or oak barrels and then refined in bottles;
"SELECTION" LINE: small masterpieces of our production;
“CLASSIC” LINE: pays homage to the great traditional grape varieties;
“ESSENCE” LINE: pays homage to Francesco and Marco's father, Mr. Pietro, "Sire" which in Salento dialect means "Father". Splendid essential and indispensable wines on any worthy of respect table;
“SWEET” LINE: let’s end with a note of sweetness.
